62 miles on foot for charity!!

Weiry - but very happy!
Weiry - but very happy!

This weekend saw our Service Coordinator Michelle Blunt complete the famous "Thames Pathway Challenge 2015".

This challenge is a gruelling 100km (62 miles) walk along the river Thames starting at Bishops Park, Fulham and finishing at Mill Meadows, Henley-on-Thames.  It's a truely unique test of determination as Michelle continued her walk through the night!

Michelle reached the finishing line in Henley on Thames on Sunday lunchtime, 29 hours after leaving central London on the previous day!  Michelle suffered considerable pain during the second half of the challenge - with blisters on her feet as big as golf balls, a very painful knee and swollen hands which resulted in her having her wedding ring cut off by medical staff!

Despite all these problems, Michelle completed the course and even managed a smile when she crossed the line!   So far, she has raised over £500.00 for the Home Instead Bring Joy Foundation.

The entire team and everyone who sponsored Michelle congratulates her on a mammoth acheivement.
