
Port Vale FC Foundation’s Friends Launch Event
Paul Edden and General Manager, Michelle Blunt as they were welcomed to Port Vale Foundation’s first meeting of Foundation Friends. Foundation Friends is Port Vale Foundation’s new business network, which provides a series of events to engage their local business community with the work of the Foundation and to explore opportunities for working together in the future. The Foundation shared their latest annual report along with key information about ways of working together. Paul and Michelle gave the audience an insight into Home Instead’s partnership and shared vision with the Foundation which has developed and runs the highly successful Golden Valiants’ Programme. The Golden Valiants is a free community programme for people over 50 hosted by Port Vale Foundation in partnership with Home Instead and offers a weekly Walk & Talk Group, Coffee Morning, Indoor Carpet Bowls, Woodworking, Tai Chi and Walking Football. Duke of Gloucester visits Golden Valiants
HRH The Duke of Gloucester, accompanied by Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire Ian Dudson joined the Golden Valiants’ weekly Thursday coffee morning where they were celebrating their one-year anniversary of coming together as a group. HRH The Duke of Gloucester took part in these celebrations, joining in with singing happy birthday whilst finding out more information about Home Instead's involvement with Port Vale and the path of their ongoing journey. Paul and Sandra Edden, owners of Home Instead Newcastle under Lyme and Stoke-on-Trent office were absolutely delighted and honoured to have the opportunity to speak with HRH The Duke of Gloucester about their sponsorship and partnership with the Club’s Foundation. We were delighted to welcome Oonagh Smyth, CEO of Skills for Care to our office on Monday 4th July. We had the opportunity to discuss our Professional Care Pathway programme with Oonagh and it was a pleasure to have a conversation around our shared values and ambitions to raise the profile of the social care profession and all those who work in it. It was lovely to meet Oonagh and guests – lots of chatting and laughter. During Oonagh’s visit she presented flowers to Lyn Mataranyika, Registered Manager of Springbank Nursing Home based in Knypersley, for achieving Level 7 Accredited Professional Nurse Advocacy (PNA) Training Programme.
