Our Supportive care in St Austell, Carlyon Bay, Duporth, Sticker and Polgooth offers all the services you need to have great quality of life and independence while still living in your own home.

Home Instead provides premium, relationship led care for older people in their own homes in St Austell Bay. Our high quality, fully managed home care service enables people to carry on enjoying their lives as independently as possible in their own homes where they wish to be.

Our care can be anything from a cup of tea and a chat, to trips out in the local area; take in the sights at Charlestown, a gentle amble through the gardens at Heligan or Pinetum or the spectacular Eden project with some caring company for full peace of mind.

As needs change with time we can provide more specialist services, such as dementia care or support with washing and dressing. We ask ” What does or would a good day look like? ” and help a person achieve this rather than just focussing on medical needs or frailties.

“Home Instead absolutely came to my rescue! Recommended by a family member who is a community nurse, this wonderful organisation provided the short-term support I needed after several weeks of home nursing. My husband’s health was slowly improving but it was reassuring to have a friendly and competent carer to supervise showering and, to my delight, to carry out light household tasks such as ironing. Right from the initial home assessment visit, the process was easy, and the staff was professional, caring and friendly. Home Instead was there in our hour of need. Highly recommended – thank you.”

“Home Instead have been and continues to be fantastic carers for my mother who suffers from dementia. As I don’t live nearby it’s so important to feel that you have access to quality, empathetic and practical support on a regular basis. This is what Home Instead do so well. They listen to Mum’s needs, spot the changes that may mean practical readjustments and help work through managing any changes calmly and empathetically. Because of this support, Mum is able to continue to live independently and very happily in Cornwall where she grew up.”

We charge a set monthly fee depending on the weekly hours needed. This includes everything – Caregiver time, travel, training, introductions, support from the office. The only extras would be specific expenses incurred for the client e.g. shopping which are passed on at cost. Mileage with the client or for a client (to collect a prescription for example) is charged at 45p.

Visits typically range from 4 hours a week to 1 – 3 hours a day. We can do longer visits though if needed and often take people for trips out.

My whole family has felt like they could trust the care given and also mix in a positive way with caregivers when we were in my parent’s home. This was so important to us. I can’t thank everyone concerned enough. They all very much went that extra mile on a regular basis.”
