Sara combines caring with coffee

At-home care provider Home Instead in Lytham, is delighted to announce the appointment of local lady Sara Beardall to the key role of Care Manager.

Sara has worked in a number of different roles within the care sector, previously, working in a local nursing home and as a scheme manager of social housing for the elderly. Sara has a true passion for looking after the elderly, which stems from when she was a young girl. She was extremely close to her grandparents and when her grandmother was tragically diagnosed with cancer, Sara cared for her until she moved into a local hospice where she remained a frequent visitor.

Sara worked with Sophie Hoyle, owner of Home Instead Lytham, Fylde and Wyre, and her mum, as a Manager at their local nursery, Happy Days. When Sara heard that Sophie was opening an at-home care service for older people in the local area, she jumped at the chance to be involved with older people again, something she was so passionate about.

Sara, explains, “I loved working at the nursery but my heart lies with caring for older people. It’s great working with Sophie and Jackie, we all share the same values and affinity with high quality care. Home Instead is a fantastic business with a hardworking, caring ethos and all of our CAREGivers are passionate about caring for older people. My role is to make sure that each caregiver is matched perfectly with the right client, which helps to build long and trusting relationships. My first challenge however, is to organise our very first coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, as part of their national ‘largest coffee morning’ event, on Friday 28th September.”

Everyone is welcome to the coffee morning which will be held in the hall at St Cuthbert’s Church in Lytham, from 10am – 12pm. They’ll be plenty of tea, coffee and cakes, as well as the opportunity to test your skills at bingo and win a selection of prizes.

Home Instead is an award winning at-home care company which provides quality services that are tailored to the needs of individual clients and ranges from companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, post-discharge care, personal care, medication reminders, shopping and errands. The service is totally flexible to meet client needs and can be provided from as little as 1 hour to 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
