As part of Home Instead Senior Care’s mission to make the Fylde Coast a ‘Dementia Friendly Community’ we have been out and about this week spreading the word on our FREE educational workshops to raise awareness in the local community. The Lytham St Annes Express included a full page spread on our workshops in their Health section and we have been inundated with requests to book places. So much so we are now looking at further dates to hold more in different locations across the Fylde Coast.

Following on from the Prime Minister launching his challenge on dementia in March 2012 we have also joined the Dementia Action Alliance to further support his aim to create dementia friendly communities all over the UK.

The Dementia Action Alliance is made up of over 480 organisations committed to transforming the quality of life of people living with dementia in the UK and the millions of people who care for them. Members of Dementia Action Alliance have published their own Action Plans setting out what they each will do to secure these outcomes and improve the quality of life of people with dementia by 2014. Home Instead Senior Care in Lytham has set out a comprehensive action plan to ensure the Fylde Coast become one of the dementia friendly communities and is able to support and keep safe local people in our community with dementia.
