Fantastic new exhibition at our Memory Hub

Home Instead Senior Care at Lytham is delighted to announce a new exhibition at our Memory Hub within the Lytham Primary Care Centre.

Remember..... is an exhibition of beautiful embroidery, designed and created by members of the Lytham Embroiderers’ Guild.    The panels feature toys, transport, hobbies and interests that were popular in times past and will no doubt throw up many happy memories for visitors to our FREE community Hub to enjoy.   From Sooty and Sweep to the Comet Airliner there are images to jog everyone’s memory.

Our collaboration with the Lytham Embroiderers Guild started in early 2016. Lois Pell our Community Development Officer held a series of meetings with the Guild’s Chairman Joan Lowe and Treasurer Gill Studden to discuss ideas for an exhibition of their work which would complement the theme of the Memory Hub. As Lois explains “Our aim is to create a quiet, reflective space full of memorabilia where people experiencing issues with memory loss can enjoy reminiscing about yesteryear in comfort”.

Lytham Embroiderers Guild welcomes people of all abilities to learn and create something in the company of others. The members are generous at sharing their time, skills, hints and tips.   The society runs workshops and day schools and has a full calendar of events throughout the year. Meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at the Unitarian Church, Channing’s Road, Lytham St. Annes.   For further details please contact Joan Lowe on 01253 732376

The Home Instead Memory Hub is open Mon-Fri during centre opening hours and is FREE for everyone to enjoy. You are welcome to come along and ‘Take a Walk Down Memory Lane’.....
