CAREGivers with Senior Fraud Awareness Packs for our clients

Home Instead, Lytham Fylde and Wyre has launched a public education programme including a FREE ‘Senior Fraud Protection Kit’.

Sophie Hoyle, owner of Home Instead said, “All of our wonderful CAREGivers who visit our clients in their own homes are trained to spot the signs of scams, whether it’s through the post, online or by telephone. We understand what a vital role our CAREGivers play in keeping our clients safe and well”.

The Home Instead programme has the support of national scam awareness charity, Think Jessica, and will help to raise awareness of mass marketing scams. These are sometimes referred to as consumer fraud and it is when you receive an uninvited contact by email, letter, phone or adverts, making false promises to con you out of money. Home Instead aims to provide as many people as possible with details about the most common scams targeting the elderly, as well as what to do if they have fallen victim to scammers.

The toolkit contains information on the most common scams, tools to help assess the risk of an elderly loved one, plus really useful checklists to help seniors take practical action to lower the risk of becoming a victim of a scam
