Our care begins with a home visit from our local team, where we talk through your needs and the way you like to live. We then match you carefully with one of our experienced Care Professionals, considering skills and experience first and then personality and shared interests, and you can meet them before any care begins. Your Care Professional will live in a spare room in your home and will usually work an eight to ten hour day, with proper breaks. They sleep in the home, so someone is close by overnight if anything unexpected happens, and if continuous care is needed through the night we will talk through how best to arrange it. To provide continuity, most of our clients are supported by two Care Professionals who take it in turns to live in for a few weeks at a time. Our local team plans the handovers carefully and arranges cover if either is ever unavailable.
The quality of our live-in care begins with the people who provide it. We recruit and directly employ every Care Professional, carry out full checks before they start, and give them ongoing training, including in specialist areas such as dementia and Parkinson's care. Our local team then supervises the support and reviews it regularly as needs evolve. Families take reassurance from being able to speak with us directly, meet us face to face, and draw on the knowledge of a team who live and work in the area. We know the GP surgeries and pharmacies nearby, and we can call on trusted tradespeople if something in the house needs attention.
