To us it's personal

Families often come to us when a loved one needs more than hourly visits can offer, and we always tailor the care we provide around them. This may include help getting up and ready for the day and preparing meals they enjoy, along with light housekeeping and support with medication at the right times. Our Care Professionals are there for companionship too, someone to share a meal and a conversation with each day. Staying part of the local community matters enormously for our clients. Many of our Care Professionals enjoy a walk with clients along the Leas, a morning around Radnor Park, or a coffee down at the Harbour Arm. Many of them drive, so lifts to appointments and outings are often easy to arrange. Our live-in care is also well suited to recovery after a hospital stay. With support on hand through the day, meals prepared and encouragement to keep up any exercises you have been set, many people regain their strength and confidence more quickly at home.

Choosing Home Instead Folkestone for personalised home care

Our care begins with a home visit from our local team, where we talk through your needs and the way you like to live. We then match you carefully with one of our experienced Care Professionals, considering skills and experience first and then personality and shared interests, and you can meet them before any care begins. Your Care Professional will live in a spare room in your home and will usually work an eight to ten hour day, with proper breaks. They sleep in the home, so someone is close by overnight if anything unexpected happens, and if continuous care is needed through the night we will talk through how best to arrange it. To provide continuity, most of our clients are supported by two Care Professionals who take it in turns to live in for a few weeks at a time. Our local team plans the handovers carefully and arranges cover if either is ever unavailable.

Our Folkestone Team is With You Through Every Step

The quality of our live-in care begins with the people who provide it. We recruit and directly employ every Care Professional, carry out full checks before they start, and give them ongoing training, including in specialist areas such as dementia and Parkinson's care. Our local team then supervises the support and reviews it regularly as needs evolve. Families take reassurance from being able to speak with us directly, meet us face to face, and draw on the knowledge of a team who live and work in the area. We know the GP surgeries and pharmacies nearby, and we can call on trusted tradespeople if something in the house needs attention. We are regulated and inspected by the Care Quality Commission, so the standard of our care is checked independently and families can feel confident in the support we provide. If you have particular needs, whether that is short-term support, longer-term care or help returning home from hospital, speak with us and we will agree how best to help.
