Elderly people can quickly become lonely and isolated. We provide a daily companionship service to Susan who is in the early stages of dementia, taking her out and about in the local community. She loves company, conversation, music and dancing and our Care Professionals, Taz and Linda provide the warm, cheerful and caring support to enable her to leave the house and take part in local community events. We also take clients out shopping, to GP, hospital and other healthcare appointments and can accompany them on outings or to meet friends and family.
Our trusted care professionals take our clients out to groups and events including to community centres such as the Brighouse Rest Centre, The Space at Field Lane, Rastrick, the Rest Stop dementia cafe and at the Central Methodist Church in Brighouse and coffee mornings at St. Chad's Church in Hove Edge and Christ Church Hipperholme. From just two or three hours each week to 24-hour care, we provide consistent support and reassurance to clients and families across all areas of Brighouse and Rastrick. We're also mindful that loneliness can have a serious effect on a person's health, and many people simply want company and conversation, which is why we aim to prevent social isolation by providing companionship to all our clients. Every year we publish a What's On Where (WOW) Guide to Calderdale, giving elderly people in Brighouse and our care team a handy reference to groups, events and activities aimed at the older generation.
