Going that extra mile
What makes a care provider 'Outstanding'? We believe it has a lot to do with the kind of people who make up the team, and the lengths they will go to in order to provide the highest quality of care.
Team members just like our amazing Toni B, who recently went above and beyond for one of her much loved clients, Len. Toni has been one of Len's CAREGiver's for over two years now and during that time they have formed a wonderful relationship. In addition to ensuring Len's basic needs are always met, Toni has frequently gone that extra mile. She planned and orchestrated a "Lockdown" birthday celebration for Len - complete with cake, presents and a socially distanced street party! Just last week, Toni revealed a project she had been working on in her free time which has truly touched our hearts... During her care call with Len, she presented him with a hand-made 'Memory Book' full of pictures and memories of his life such as his wedding day. Toni had put this together whilst juggling her busy work schedule and her own personal commitments, showing what an incredibly caring individual she is and a huge asset to our team. Len was absolutely over the moon and quite taken back by the effort and care that Toni had put into the book.
When we spoke to Toni about the incredible job she does for Len, she simply said... "I only treat him like I would want my family members treated. He thinks I’m some sort of magician today as he was running out of cereal so I brought a box to the call without him saying then he was worried that he had ran out of his medication but I know he has another month in the cupboard so I gave them to him. He called me his angel who he would be lost without."
A kind and compassionate nature is a skill that cannot be taught. We are beyond proud to have individuals like Toni on our team who enable us to provide exceptional care in our community.
