Meet the team

Karen - Recruitment & Retention Coordinator

Karen joined us in October 2016. She initially applied for a role as CAREGiver, however given her lovely personality and professional background we instantly asked her to be our Recruitment & Retention Coordinator.

We had been searching for someone for a little while and Karen matched the criteria.

Karen is often the first person you will be contacted by when you apply on our Facebook page, or by telephone to be a CAREGiver for Home Instead in Horsham and Haywards Heath. Her personality and calm approach means she is ideally placed to provide nervous applicants with a warm welcome to the Home Instead environment.

In the office she is always the positive one with the biggest smile for each person that walks through the door.

Please contact Karen to discuss how you can become a CAREGiver and advance your career in care.

Franchise Owner - Pearl Blakemore

Hello, I am Pearl Blakemore, owner of Home Instead Senior Care in Horsham.

Working in the care sector is a hugely rewarding vocation and to have my own business, where I can directly influence the way in which care is delivered is a realisation of my ambition.

Having worked for many years in the very corporate environment of the insurance and IT industries, I had acquired the skills to enable me to set up my own business. It was quite ironic that the business I set up, a domiciliary cleaning company actually led me on to Home Instead.  I was constantly being asked if I knew people who could provide care for my clients at home, sometimes it was just to help out with shopping or errands but I realised that there was a real need for this kind of service in my local community.

I have also had a number of personal experiences where I couldn’t find the level of good quality care for relatives and friends. And so, my goal is to provide just that. I want our clients to see our Caregivers as an extension of their family, to help with everyday tasks and whatever care they need.

Samantha joined Home Instead in October 2011 and it is a pleasure to have her as one of our CAREGivers. She is caring, listens well enabling her to be a good communicator. She is dependable. Enjoys baking cakes and is an excellent cook.
