Home Instead marks the National Day of Reflection

Today we joined the rest of the country in marking the National #DayOfReflection. It’s a day to remember those who have died during the pandemic, and to show support for everyone who has been bereaved.

End of life charity Marie Curie is the force behind the day, which has taken place on the anniversary of the UK going into its first national lockdown. The charity estimates that over three million people have been bereaved since the start of the pandemic. It has been particularly difficult for those who have been unable to say goodbye to loved ones in the way they wished.

Many people across our franchise network have been personally affected, whether that’s through losing family, friends or colleagues. It’s a poignant day for us today as we reflect on the colleagues and clients that we have lost. Everyone in the Home Instead family is valued, and today we pay tribute to them and remember everything they gave us.

We also want to reflect on everything the past 12 months has taught us. As a home care company, it has been a challenging year keeping clients safe. Our CAREGivers have gone above and beyond to ensure that clients stay physically and mentally well during what could easily be a worrying and lonely time for them. It’s often in the darkest of times that people show their utter dedication, and that’s certainly true of our CAREGivers.
