We are pleased to share that Imogen Clarke, our Head of Franchise Development, was invited to join the speaker lineup at the Barclays Women in Franchising event, supported by Platinum Wave Franchising.
Imogen took part in the event’s flagship panel discussion, Women Breaking Barriers in Franchising, where she shared insights drawn from more than a decade working with our respected and award‑winning franchise network. She also hosted a roundtable session for fellow franchisors, exploring best practice and discussing developments shaping the future of franchising.
Imogen joined Home Instead in 2013 and has since become a recognised specialist in franchise development and in supporting individuals into meaningful business ownership. After moving into franchise development in 2017, she went on to become Head of the department, overseeing both the recruitment of new franchise owners and our in‑house resale brokerage.
A Qualified Franchise Professional (QFP), Imogen has supported hundreds of franchise owners, helped maintain our position as the UK’s No.1 home care franchise, guided numerous owners through the resale process and played a key role in sustaining our network of more than 265 franchise territories. She has also contributed to our continued recognition for quality, innovation and ethical franchising. Her expertise and impact across the network were key reasons behind her invitation to join this high‑profile panel.
Imogen’s work places her at the heart of the franchise journey, overseeing the process that supports individuals as they move from exploring the opportunity through to launching, growing and, when the time comes, reselling their business. She has a clear understanding of what makes a successful Home Instead franchise owner, the qualities that drive strong and sustainable business performance, and how owners can build high‑quality care services within their communities.
She is also deeply familiar with the realities of stepping into business ownership with a leading brand, and how franchising can offer flexible, purpose‑driven careers. Imogen’s involvement in this event reflected her reputation as a trusted guide for individuals considering their next step in business ownership.
Barclays’ Women in Franchising event brought together female leaders, aspiring business owners and franchise professionals to share insights and experiences. Led by Suzie McCafferty QFP of Platinum Wave Franchising, the event formed part of Barclays’ wider commitment to support 250,000 women in starting, running and growing businesses by 2026. Imogen’s contribution highlighted the opportunities franchising provides for women seeking greater autonomy, flexibility and purpose in their careers.
The event took place in London, bringing together women from across the franchising community to network, learn and share experiences. We are proud to have had Imogen representing Home Instead at this key industry event.
