The franchise resale process

Taking the first steps in buying a resale

Setting out on a new venture like this can be intimidating. However, we’ve tried to make the franchise resale process as easy as possible for you.

1

Making the first move

If you’re interested in a resale franchise, let us know. Once you’ve expressed an interest, we’ll send you our review sales prospectus. You’ll then be asked to complete a franchise application and sign an NDA (non-disclosure agreement).

The next step

If your application is successful, you’ll be given an informal offer. Then Heads of Terms, which set out the main terms of the sale, will be agreed and drawn up. After this, each party (including Home Instead, as we have a vested interest in the agreement) will instruct lawyers before entering into a Sale & Purchase Agreement. Like the vendor, you’re advised to seek independent legal and financial advice before entering into any legally binding agreement. We provide a list of recommended lawyers with strong franchise backgrounds and who know our model and process very well

The final stages

All parties will agree a completion date and once completed, the agreed price will be paid, the franchise fee will be paid and we’ll provide you with initial and ongoing support. You’ll be well on the road to owning and running your own franchise
