Home Instead Exeter & East Devon receive national office praise
This connection not only offers encouragement, technological advice and innovative ideas to support the delivery of exceptional care, but also support from a team of sector experts responsible for ensuring that the highest standards are met by each office across the network of 250 UK based Home Instead branches.
Inspections are made in the form ‘audits’ where the operational standards of the Company are independently assessed via a strict set of criteria. The spotlight is bright, and no area of process is considered out of bounds. We are thrilled to share that Home Instead UK’s Head of Standards, Diane Williams, reported that our fantastic team had ‘passed’ with flying colours!
For example, our Scheduling team were commended for their thorough and considerate approach to the task of allocating visits. They did this with both consistency of care in mind for the client, with an importance placed on personal introductions, by allowing generous travel time in between visits, and also with a proactive approach to planning, which results in schedules being completed months in advance.
Very often, our Home Care Consultants are the first point of contact for those enquiring about care with Home Instead, and the responsiveness of our team, their attention to detail in the production of care plans, personalised approach to care and absolute commitment was recognised – high praise for our brilliant colleagues.
There is a true emphasis on safety and an ability to deliver the right care, at the right time. This included the procedures followed during the hospital discharge process – a service offering that so often sets us apart from other home care providers.
The Recruitment experience was given true commendation, with the inspector noting the scrupulous and full compliance with regard to DBS and reference checks, verifying the identity of applicants, ensuring that robust procedures resulted in safe and supportive hiring of colleagues, and safe care for our Clients.
Training is very much considered our ‘magic ingredient’ in relation to the standard of care that we are looking to achieve, and our Training and Support team were acknowledged for their specialist training, direction, support and mentorship of Care Professionals.
This resonated across the entire team and was evident in the Care Professional ‘logs’ which detailed the outcome of each and every care visit that is conducted.
With regard to Marketing, Diane was impressed by the clear and vitally, regular communications that were distributed across the team, keeping them informed on topics relating to client welfare, company policies, safety and standards, but also with wellbeing in mind. From a wider perspective, our social media pages share a variety of useful advice for the community, complimenting the work of our Community Champion colleagues, all relevant to those in later life and their family members, carers and legal representatives, displaying our commitment to wider community welfare.
