HISCar Awards Afternoon

We have just held our annual CAREGiver awards. It was a little different this year as it was a ZOOM meeting. We hope next year to have a proper face to face meeting but until then we will continue to improvise.

Before the event we distributed a package to all our CAREGivers giving details of how to log into the meeting, a bottle of Fentimans Traditional Victorian Lemonade and a selection of biscuits so that we could all have a light refreshment during the awards.

One of the awards was ‘The People’s Choice’ this winner was the CAREGiver with the most client votes.

It is a really fantastic award to receive as it is the clients themselves who decide will be the winner. Many clients gave their reasoning for selecting a certain CAREGiver, others could not decide and listed all their CAREGivers.

Here are some of the lovely Client comments, please note I have taken out the CAREGiver names, my CAREGiver :

‘is very reliable and thorough with both personal care and household chores and she is nice to have in the house.’

‘is knowledgeable and understanding of dementia, and is a beacon of light in our lives.’

‘is kind, efficient and with a good sense of humour.’

‘is the first CAREGiver we have ever had. She is reliable, punctual, pleasant and cheerful every day. She brings all her experience to help us, works so hard, achieves so                much in the time and therefore is quite invaluable. We really appreciate all she does.’

‘has a cheerful disposition and a very caring nature.’

‘cannot be bettered for caring and being so thoughtful. Has a heart of gold. Deserves to win 1st Prize!’

‘has a great sense of humour, very efficient always happy and willing to help in any way. A pleasure to have in the house.’

‘she understands how our home works. She puts herself out to find the bits of shopping our weekly shopper cannot find. She cooks our meals well, whether from scratch        or from Waitrose, and always cares about the way they are presented. She is such a nice person.’

‘she is always looking out for other areas where she can help my Mum.’

‘goes above and beyond to gain my mother’s trust and has succeeded in this. My mother looks forward to her visits.'

‘she is very caring and we really appreciate all the support she has provided'.

‘he has done his job brilliantly and is loved by my father.’

What fantastic comments. Most of our CAREGivers had more than one vote and all the client comments will go on the relevant personnel file.

The People’s Choice winner was Maria.  Maria was in tears when she heard she had won and very proud of the award. Other winners were Gill for being the CAREGiver who has been working for us the longest. She joined one month after I started the business and has therefore been working for Home Instead Epping Forest for over 7 years!

Our newest CAREGiver, Sarah also got a certificate.

The Extra Mile Award went to Amanda and for the second year running the ‘Around the Clock’ Award winner was Christina, as she has worked the most hours in the last year.

All winners received a bouquet of flowers delivered to their homes as well as a framed certificate.

Well done to all.
