Live-in Care in Down, Lisburn & Belfast | Stay Home Instead
Providing security & happiness in your own Home
Having to arrange care for your parents, an older relative or friend who can no longer look after themselves can be quite an emotional and stressful experience. There are various types of care available and understanding what will be best for yourself can become quite overwhelming; that is why we are here to help.
What is live-in Care?
Live-in care is when a CAREGiver resides in your home and provides your loved one with the care and support they need. This allows them to live independently at home and in familiar surroundings.
Live-in care is a more attractive alternative to a care home and enables you to receive dedicated one-to-one support when they need it the most.
A typical live-in Care arrangement
In a live-in care arrangement, one of our highly dedicated and individually trained CAREGivers will live in the home for 1 or 2 weeks at a time. At the end of that time, another CAREGiver will arrive to take on the next 2 weeks.
So you will always have the same CAREGivers in your home.
We will provide you with all the home support you need during the times you feel will be best for you.
The CAREGiver eats and sleeps in the home and is like a member of the family for you. Normally the CAREGiver will take an extended break of 2 hours or so in the middle of the day.
A care plan is created and put into place based on your needs and requirements, ensuring that you and your CAREGiver know what to expect during their stay.
The CAREGiver has the constant support of the Home Instead office to make sure you are being looked after in the best way with daily checks and weekly visits to your home to take on the next 1 or 2 weeks.
How safe is live-in Care?
Live-in care is one of the safest care options available.
The risk of infection from outside your home is reduced when you have a CAREGiver reside with you.
Our most important priority is to keep you as safe and shielded as possible while enjoying a higher quality of life from being in the comfort of your own home.
What do I need to provide for a live-in CAREGiver?
You will need to provide your CAREGiver with their own bedroom and somewhere for them to store their clothes.
The CAREGiver will also require access to a bathroom and kitchen.
The CAREGiver will take all of their meals at the house and you are expected to provide food for them.
Highly trained & trustworthy CAREGivers matched to your needs
We understand that having someone to come and live in your home is a significant change for everyone and can feel quite unsettling to begin with. We select the CAREGiver who we believe will match your care needs and who will be well suited to look after you.
Our CAREGivers go through a process of comprehensive background checks and meticulous training before meeting any of our clients.CAREGivers are all registered with Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC).
