Tombola raises cash for homeless dogs and cats
Charity begins at home, as the saying goes. So, here at Home Instead we've been raising funds for one of our local charities - The National Animal Welfare Trust (NAWT) in Little Clacton.
NAWT care for, rehabilitate and rehome stray, unwanted and relinquished cats and dogs. On Sunday 10th May, they held their Fun Day and Dog Show to raise much needed funds to continue their wonderful work. The event was the first since the Covid outbreak which prevented them from running so many face to face charity events. Everyone turned out in force to show their support including the Home Instead team.
We realise how important NAWT's work is, as any one of our clients who has a much loved companion pet may one day need their support to care for and rehome their dog or cat, if for example they have to go into hospital or residential care or they just a change in circumstances that mean they can no longer look after their pet.
So we put our thinking caps on and decided to run an Egg-stra Tombola Stall, making good use of the spare Easter Eggs left over from those we give to our Care Professionals and clients this year. Thanks to the generosity of all those coming along to the event we managed to raise a wonderful £92 for NAWT, contributing to the £5,600 raised in total. What a fantastic result - well done to everyone involved.
