Home Instead Frinton-on-Sea’ Cycle to Work Scheme

How We’re Supporting our Staff and the Environment

It all started when we were thinking of ways to help our employees find a safe and environmentally friendly method of getting to work.

Owner & Director, Jean Allen, had a brilliant idea to use the funding she had received from the government to invest in a fleet of electric bikes for her employees.

When the coronavirus pandemic broke out, the government provided us with infection control funds, it was these funds that got used to help our employees (and future employees) get to work without the need of using public transportation.

Our bikes also get used to help our CAREGiver’s visit their clients, this massively helps to reduce the potential spread of coronavirus as well as helping the environment by reducing congestion and fumes from cars and buses.

As our team grows and more people become interested, we will expand our fleet to accommodate those who want to use e-bikes instead of typical methods of transportation.

Home Instead Frinton-on-Sea will now provide all staff and CAREGivers training and orientation on how to use the electronic bikes safely.

A bike will be purchased for any member of staff who successfully completes their trial period with us.

We pride ourselves on being awarded as a 5-star employer and go above and beyond to provide our staff with everything they need.

Person-centred home care is our business and this acknowledgement proves that it works, not only for our clients but for our caregivers and the team in the office too.

We would like to thank Johnsons Cycles, in Connaught Avenue, who were so professional, helpful and supportive in getting us prepared to use them in the community.

We're always looking for friendly and compassionate people to join our team, if you're interested, check out our careers page here
