Mark's Quarter Century of Care

Care Professional Mark Corton knew from the age of 17 that a career in care was the job for him. It was while Mark was on a three-week work experience placement from school, at a residential care home that he found his chosen vocation and 25-years on he's still as passionate about the role.

Mark supports and cares for a number of our male clients across Clacton and Holland-on-Sea. You might have seen him en-route to his calls, as he uses one of our electric bikes to get around.

Mark said:  "I love my job and get a great sense of satisfaction from going that extra mile and knowing I’ve helped someone.  The gentlemen I support and provide care to, they are all so different with such interesting lives. I love hearing their stories from meeting Sophia Loren to a life gigging in pubs and clubs. My life is richer thanks to them.”

Mark loves the variety involved in supporting and caring for clients in their own home, he recently completed a 'This is Your Life' style story book for one of his clients including photographs of places and people important to that client's life and that bring back great memories.  Mark's also been known to don a Santa outfit for Home Instead and help out at recruitment events sharing the rewards of a career in care.  He is certainly someone we are thrilled to have as part of our Home Instead team and we know he makes a big difference to the clients he supports and cares for.
