Jubilee Drawing Competition Winners Announced

This week Home Instead's Jean Allen and Tendring Eldercare's Laura Marston had the tough job of judging all the fantastic entries into our Children's Jubilee Drawing Competition.

Our aim was to find a fantastic image to adorn the front of the Jubilee Greetings Card we are sending out along with a cream tea and commemorative Jubilee Pin, to 200 residents across the Tendring area.  These are people who might not otherwise be able to join in the street parties and celebrations, we want them to know we are all part of one big community and help bring a smile to their faces and a little bit of the Jubilee spirit.

We had 80 super creations from children at schools across the area including Great Clacton Junior School, Rolph Church of England Primary School, Whitehall Academy and Walton Primary School.

After much deliberation, Jean and Laura chose the winning entry to be... drum roll please...

*******Congratulations Emily Munden, aged 11 years*******

Emily's striking red, white and blue Union Jack, Royal Crown and Corgi image will be used on our Jubilee Greetings Card.  Emily's efforts also win her a £20 gift voucher.

The standards were so high that the judges also decided to add a 2nd and 3rd prize. So well done also to ....

2nd prize - Oliver Wall, aged 9 years for his beautiful Queen's Tea Party drawing

3rd prize - Freya Nicholas, aged 4 years for her gorgeous handprint Queen - what a clever idea to make the fingers the crown!

Oliver and Freya will receive a £10 gift voucher each.

Thank you to everyone who took part we loved every single picture and we will be making sure that every artistic creation we received is enjoyed by at least one of our cream tea recipients.
