Dementia is now much more part of families lives. There are 750,000 people with dementia in the UK. There are many forms of dementia and one of the most well known is Alzheimer’s. As the length of time we live increases, so does our chance of having to deal with dementia, either for ourselves or our family members. Maintaining care in the home for a client with dementia can help them and their family feel they have not ‘lost’ someone they care for.
We have caring, reliable and sensitive staff who have experience with caring for clients with dementia. We aim to maintain the client’s independence, peace of mind and safety. We also aim to be there for the family to enable them to carry on with their day to day life and leisure activities.
At the start of our service, we take great care to individualise the care plan to minimise stress on our clients and to take on board the preferences and routines the families have learnt work best. As our client's needs change we update the care plans to make sure we are doing the best for that client. Our goal is that the client and their family do not feel alone in dealing with the challenge of dementia.
We have excellent links with the support agencies in Clacton, Frinton and Walton. We work closely with the Alzheimer’s Society and Dementia Service to ensure our care represents the best to deal with this very challenging condition.
