Gail Godson, Director of Home Instead West Lancashire and Chorley invited CAREGivers and staff to attend the latest series of employee briefing meetings on May 1st and 2nd, held to ensure that timely and consistent messages are communicated to staff, this month’s meetings covered:

  • HR Structures

  • New Documentation for Client Journals
  • Care Standards
  • Operations
  • Staff Feedback

Gail comments "It is always a highlight for me to meet and share our very latest news and developments. Highlights from the meeting included celebrating a number of mile stones and achievements including the arrival of new staff, our CQC Outstanding rating, recent staff pay award, implications of the Care Act 2014, and our Client and Staff PEAQ surveys 2015".

Not ones for resting upon our laurels and as part of our goal to provide the best possible standard of care service across West Lancashire and Chorley, staff were also encouraged to focused upon areas where, as a team, we can still improve and these formed part of an open discussion, covering enhancements to: client activity logs, cleaning rotas, to do - check lists and reviews of activity and MARS sheets.

Gail goes on to say "I found each meeting to be quite inspirational, our team consistently make a difference each and every day and it is so good to get the team together in this way. I have noticed that quite a number of them have already been on our latest E-Learning system and are completing their training modules, as part of our on-going employee appraisal, supervision and development programme".

*Staff that are not able to attend the various times and dates receive a copy of the minutes and an opportunity to have a one to one briefing.
