Within only ten months of being open, Gail Godson, Director of Home Instead West Lancashire and Chorley, based locally in Ormskirk has two good very good reasons for a double celebration. Having just been shortlisted as a finalist in the Homecare Category, in the prestigious Laing & Buisson 2013 Independent Specialist Care Awards and passing a recent Care Quality Commission unannounced inspection, with flying colours.
Showcasing the very best in care services nationally, The 2013 Laing & Buisson Independent Specialist Care Awards draw attention to the best performing private and voluntary sector providers working in the provision of social care services for adults with learning or physical disabilities or mental health conditions whether that be in residential care, homecare or specialist hospitals.
This superb recognition comes just two months after successfully completing an unannounced audit by The Care Quality Commission (CQC) who conducted a thorough and very impressive inspection of the entire Home Instead operation which ranged from interviewing caregivers and staff, inspecting files and documentation through to discussing the service directly with clients and or their families, the CQC are the regulatory body who check whether hospitals, care homes and care services are meeting essential standards of quality and safety.
Commenting on these achievements, Gail goes on to say:
“It is fabulous that our local high quality care service is being recognised in this way .We are so delighted with the excellent feedback and recognition from our clients and their families. At Home Instead we are committed to changing the face of ageing by delivering the highest possible quality care service to adults and older people in their own homes, and with the utmost dignity and respect. Our quality culture and determination is reflected in everything we do including recruiting, retaining and training our wonderful caregivers who share our goals and who want to make a real difference locally”.
“Our focus is on providing a high quality service that meets our client’s actual needs, rather than the historical and outdated care model of a “task driven” service and it is so pleasing that the tremendous endeavours of our excellent caregiver staff, are being recognised in this way”.
