Gold Award at Chorley Flower Show 2026
Celebrating the Gold Award-winning Dementia Garden at the 2026 Chorley Flower Show and its powerful message of memory, connection and awareness...

Home Instead West Lancashire & Chorley was proud to stand alongside fellow members of the Chorley Dementia Action Group at the 2026 Chorley Flower Show, supporting the incredible Secret Garden display.
The garden received a well-deserved Gold Award, recognising not only its beautiful design, but also its important message of memory, connection, and Dementia awareness.
One of the most meaningful parts of the display was the memory olive tree. Featuring a Home Instead plaque alongside wooden plaques created by individuals living with Dementia who attend Chorley Dementia Action Group’s sessions. Each handmade plaque captured a personal memory, bringing the voices and experiences of local people into the garden.
Raising Dementia awareness helps reduce stigma, improve understanding and remind families that they are not alone and that support is available in their communities. For more than 14 years, Home Instead West Lancashire & Chorley has championed Dementia support through awareness training, community initiatives, practical guidance and signposting to local services.
We were delighted to support this Gold Award-winning garden and help highlight the importance of creating Dementia-friendly communities across Chorley.
