Home Instead's Outstanding Care Professionals

Our outstanding Care Professionals all share one thing in common - a truly caring nature.

Just like our Clients, our Care Professionals are all individuals with their own unique qualities and experiences. Many of our staff are mature - the average age of our Care Professionals is over 50. We value older workers, in particular those with life experiences that help them to relate to the families they are supporting.

Our staff draw on experience across a wide variety of settings, including nursing within the NHS, counselling with Relate, specialist cancer care with Marie Curie, and even nursery care. But many also have no professional experience in health or social care.

You don't need professional experience to join us: often personal experience of helping family or others in your community is a very good indicator that you would make an excellent Care Professional. Above all you will be a positive thinker, someone who uses their initiative every day to bring joy to the lives of those in our care.

Check out some of our Care Professional profiles for an insight into who works for us, what the work involves, and stories about their work with our Clients.

If you feel you have what it takes to help an elderly person in your community, even for a few hours a week, please get in touch.

Home Instead Owner, Simon McGee

Director & Registered Manager - Simon

I’m Simon, the proud owner of Home Instead Chichester and Bognor Regis. I am so happy to be running an outstanding care service that is transforming the way we care for older people in their own homes in West Sussex.

As a company, we do that by treating our team differently: we’re very selective when interviewing our Care Professionals, we provide extensive training and support to all of our staff, and we recognise and reward their achievements in bringing joy to the lives of those they care for.

We are always on the lookout for more community heroes, so please get in touch if you’d like to find out more.

I am constantly amazed by the wonderful world of caring people in our local community. Since establishing Home Instead, I’ve spent a lot of time getting to know doctors, nurses, hospitals, physiotherapists, churches, community groups, volunteers and charities across Chichester and the surrounding towns and villages.

I’m a Dementia Champion for the Alzheimer’s Society, and have first hand experience of caring for my own family. Home Instead in Eastbourne looked after my grandmother, helping her to continue to be independent in her own home right up until she passed away, a day after her 96th birthday. That experience inspired me to begin our service in 2015.

Our service is designed to help you or your family to remain independent at home, by providing 'relationship-led' care that ranges from assistance with everyday tasks or simply helping you continue to enjoy doing the things you love, right the way through to specialist dementia care and end of life care.

Our reputation, and your happiness, means everything. To us, it's personal.

Operations & Registered Manager - Lisa

Hi, I'm the Operations and Registered Manager for Home Instead.

I joined Home Instead shortly after its inception in 2015. I wanted to make a difference to social care and work for a company that really wanted to make caring a 'profession'. I have been working in the health and social care sector since I was 19 years old, and have experience across all settings, from hospitals to hospices and community care.

Outside of work I love music, spending quality time with my family, baking and doing anything creative.

Cecil and Maud. Fat puppies.

Our office dogs - Cecil & Maud

Herro - we are Cecil & Maud!

We are a confusing cross between lazy Bassetts and crazy Cocker Spaniels. But we're never cross... we are always happy!

We're often found keeping the office team smiley, with our silly games and our floppy ears.

Then we sleep on our backs, waiting for someone to stroke our fat tummies.
