Charlotte Johnson - Director
Following 14 years of working in the manufacturing, design and retail industry I decided to research areas where I could apply my skill set in order to really make a difference to people’s lives.
The care sector, following several years of research – is an area I feel drawn to. I want to ensure we are treating the elderly with the respect and time they deserve. Having learnt the current care model we operate in the UK is in dire need of support and better direction I hope that by providing Home Instead care to our local Charnwood and Loughborough community I can go some way towards supporting the larger concern.
Jade Thumwood- Operations Manager
My name is Jade Thumwood and I am the Operations Manager at Home Instead Charnwood. Whilst I started my career as a Care Assistant whilst at University studying for my BA Hons, I left the care industry and moved into Recruitment and Sales Management. Missing the enrichment from working in the care industry I then went on to become an Office Manager at a private care home group.
I jumped at the opportunity to work for Home Instead Charnwood because of the outstanding services, excellent industry reputation and the enrichment they offer the lives of their clients, families and the CAREGivers. Letting someone provide care for you at home can be a very personal experience. That’s why we set the bar extremely high with regards to the standard of care we deliver.

After meeting the team at Home Instead Charnwood and learning about all the amazing things they do in the community, I wanted to be part if their ethos!
I'm very passionate about people and cant wait to lead and support our CAREGivers throughout their journey with us at Home Instead Charnwood. When recruiting it's important we have the right CAREGivers to join our expanding team and we support them in the fantastic work they do. Our door is always open for a cup of tea and a chat!

Adrienne Wilkes - Client Care Coordinator
From a young age I have been inspired to work in the care sector, the main reason for this is I have had family work in different care environments of whom I have considered my role models. I have studied several qualifications since starting my career in the care system, 7 years ago and continue with my NVQ L5 in health and social care. I am looking forward to the future to continue enhancing lives with Home Instead Charnwood and progressing my career with a company that provides exceptional support to their clients and working to the highest standards both providing essential care, and life enhancement.

We’re looking for more people with the personality and passion to build great relationships with our clients
Our clients trust us. They will rely on you to listen carefully to what they need, take an interest in them and deliver excellent care. If you enjoy interacting with older individuals and want to pursue an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of older people, caregiving might be the career for you.
The central and most important part of a CAREGiving role with Home Instead is offering companionship and conversation. Each of our CAREGivers is matched to a client based on mutual interests and hobbies to encourage a strong relationship to develop.
We believe you need this understanding and bond to be able to care for someone as if they were a member of your own family. Indeed, many of our CAREGivers do not have formal experience of working as a carer before they join our team, but have looked after a family member and want to make a difference to an older person’s life by using the experience they have gained.
Our service is companionship led and so a considerable responsibility of a CAREGiver is to stimulate and encourage the client through a range of different activities that sustain or improve their quality of life. A CAREGiver’s responsibilities can also include accompanying clients to appointments and social events, light housekeeping, planning and preparing meals and helping with daily living routines.
We are looking for friendly, kind, compassionate people who like to spend time with older people and build a friendly but professional relationship. Therefore we don’t believe in onerous application forms, we prefer to meet face to face for a chat to make sure you match our values and most importantly for you to see what Home Instead is all about. Don’t worry if you don’t have sector experience, we have extensive training and on-going development opportunities that will enable to you deliver our special brand of relationship-led care.
