Franchise Owner - Sergio Mesen
Hello, thanks for coming to our Home Instead Bristol website. I am the owner of the branch covering the Bristol & North Somerset Areas. I am originally from Costa Rica and have been living in the UK since 2007. I am married to Yan and have two children: Azlan (8 years old) and Aisha (6 years old). We live in Felton near Bristol airport. I have an engineering background and over 18 years experience managing teams in various countries. Most of my experience has been in providing services.
I enjoy running a business that works in the community helping vulnerable people. Our lovely and highly trained Caregivers really make a different for our clients. Everybody in our organisation is focused on delivering a reliable and responsive service. We believe in delivering a high quality service unique in the area.
I spend my free time mostly with my family. My interests include watching TV, reading, visiting the UK countryside and historical places and property development (I have developed 5 houses so far). I like going to restaurants and trying food from different countries. I am currently finishing an MBA at Bradford University.

General Manager - Yan Mesen
Hi there! I'm Yan, co-owner of this company & wife to Sergio. We started this business in late 2009, with only 5 clients and 10 caregivers. At the time, both Sergio & I were new to this care sector, as both of us came from different working background. My past experience was in Business Development in IT sector for many years.
My experience in care started when I did care visits on the weekends in the first few years. I wanted to gain experience and knowledge as a caregiver. I really enjoyed it! In fact, until now I still do care visits once awhile.I really like the way Home Instead engages in the local community and the emphasis on quality of care. We are also fortunate to have a team of Caregivers who are caring and passionate with their work.
In my spare time, I enjoy cooking. I like to explore different recipes from different countries. I enjoy travelling and experiencing different cultures, learning new languages and trying different food.
Office Manager - Michelle Gregor
Hi, my name is Michelle and I have been working in care for over 25 years. I started as a carer working in Residential Homes, Nursing Homes, EMI’s, Hospitals and in the District. I have held various job roles with progression throughout this time period gaining knowledge and experience and I have spent 10 years working in a Private Mental Hospital as a Business Support Manager. I am a qualified Mental Health Law Practitioner and have NVQ’s in Health and Social Care and Business. I am currently looking to complete my level 5 in Leadership and Management. I am a qualified trainer in Manual Handling, Medication Administration and Basic Life Support and CPR.
I joined Homeinstead Senior Care Bristol and North Somerset in March. I am passionate about the service and care we provide in the community and am lucky to be working alongside such an amazing team
Care Supervisor / Learning Development Manager - Rachel Reynolds
I have been working in the care industry since 2005. I have lots of experience including nursing care, dementia care, end of life care and companionship. I joined Home Instead in September 2017. I am the care manager and currently completing my Level 5 in Leadership and Management. I love my job and enjoy working with our team.

I deal with a new applicant from the beginning of their journey to the end with us when applying for a job.
My experience started working in an administrative role in care for another company, which I really enjoyed, I then applied to Home Instead which is a larger company to gain more experience.
My role involves seeing the growth of someone from the beginning of their application to when they start as a caregiver with us, I really enjoy my role and I like getting to know all the Caregivers and Clients
Client Coordinator - Laura Mason
I have worked in the care industry since 2015. My experience started as a carer in care homes where I worked up to a senior position. I then progressed to more administrative roles within care. I am very passionate about my work and ensuring we provide the services required by our clients to a high standard.
I am a dementia friend's champion and I am always keen to gain more knowledge in the care field.

Scheduler - Chloe Gooding
Hi I'm Chloe--
I started with Home Instead as a caregiver, this was my first ever role in the care industry in 2018, and I then became the senior caregiver and also did on-call every other weekend.
I applied for the position that I'm in now as scheduler in March 2021 and I am also the GDPR champion.
I do however miss going into the clients' homes, but I enjoy being able to speak to them regularly on the phone and sorting out any queries.
