OWNER - JOE SPITZER

Life before Home Instead

My career included roles in the army, corporate banking and the IT sector. During these times, I was privileged to travel and gain international business experience and knowledge. I also welcomed the opportunities to embrace the cultures of different countries.

Life since Home Instead

Having experienced first-hand, the need for services for my elderly parents; it has become increasingly important to me to be able to do more to support the ever-growing number of senior people in our population. I was drawn to the Home Instead’s values and beliefs and opened my first franchise in Weston Super Mare in 2012. I owned this until 2017, when I took some time out to return to South Africa (my birth country).

In November 2019, I was proud to be the first person to return to the franchise network and open our Bristol East office (in Hanham.) The brand of Home Instead is flourishing and our team here continues to grow in numbers and experience. I am confident that as we continue to look to the future, we can provide outstanding home care services within the community of Bristol East and surrounding areas.

Care Manager Andrea Home Instead Bristol East Home Care

CARE MANAGER - ANDREA WILLIAMS

It always make me proud to say I am a local girl, born and raised in Bristol.

Having moved away to the Isle of Wight for ten years, I returned two years ago and now live in Hanham. During my time away, I achieved what I consider to be my absolute biggest success...to have raised my three children.

I have worked in health care for more than 20 years, working with clients (from young adults to the elderly) with a variety of needs. In recent years, my focus has been helping adults who have mental illness.

Away from work, I am passionate about a number of things and at the top of that list are my dogs and other pets. I love to garden and have an allotment. When I’m feeling energetic, I’ll happily head off for a bike ride and when the energy levels are low, I also like to sneak somewhere quiet to read a book.

I strongly believe that here at the Bristol East office, we can provide the very best care to support you/your family member to continue living a comfortable and fulfilling life at home.

Scheduler Beth Kendall Home Instead Bristol East Home Care

SCHEDULER - BETH KENDALL

I began my journey working in care seven years ago. My first role was as a CAREgiver and I was successful in progressing to being a Team Leader and a Care Supervisor. This previous hands on experience has proved very valuable as a Scheduler, as I understand the day to day needs and challenges for both our clients and CAREgivers. My key focus is to ensure we can provide the very best solutions for all involved and I take pride in achieving this.

When I’m not sat at my desk, I am all about my family. I love to cook at family events and that’s often for 14 people!  I have three Newfoundland dogs and it always makes me smile that my mother is called the ‘crazy dog lady’ within our local area.

Administrator Natalie Gibbs Home Instead Bristol East Home Care

ADMINISTRATOR - NATALIE GIBBS

I have been working in administration since leaving school. When Covid hit the world, I took myself out of my comfort zone and ventured into a role within a care home. It was something that I had always wanted to do but never had the confidence to do before. Originally I come from a large family and being the eldest I was the babysitter to all my cousins as well as being very close to my grandparents so often cared for them in their later lives. When the opportunity to work for Home Instead came along, I was delighted I’d have the chance to use both sets of skills in one job.

I have two sons who are football mad, due to this I spend most of my Sundays in a field in the middle of nowhere being very cold and wet, and being teenagers, I am also their taxi service. I also like to go out for food and drinks with my friends and family but when at home I love to be curled up on the sofa with a good book and a glass of wine. My favourite place to escape to is Weymouth, I lived there for a few years and my eldest was born there so we often return for weekends away as much as possible (outside football season of course).
