How to age well

Growing old can bring challenges, both for the person who’s ageing and for their family. It can be frustrating for our loved ones because they can’t do everything they used to and feel like they’re losing their independence. At the same time, it might be worrying for their family as they might not be able to be there whenever their loved ones need them.

Pursue your passion

Are you a naturally caring personality? Are you concerned about the the welfare of others? Helping others connects us to others and create stronger communities. It supports those more vulnerable in our communities and at the same time helps with everyone's mental health. We are not looking for experience, we are looking for compassionate local people who find helping others rewarding. The majority of our CAREGivers have not worked in care before, but they have looked after family members friends, neighbours or worked in similar settings such as schools, nurseries and in industries which are customer focused. If this sounds like you and feel you need a change in your career, please do not hesitate to contact our Recruiter on 01277 822858 or visit our website: https://www.homeinstead.co.uk/brentwood-upminster/vacancies/

Christmas Jumper Day 2020

Today we celebrate Christmas Jumper Day 2020. It has been a challenging year for everyone so our dress up days in the team always bring lots of smiles and laughs. Although we have been unable to invite CAREGivers into the office for a mince pie and treats, we tied our Christmas Jumper Day with delivering Christmas gifts for all our team members. CAREGivers were delighted to receive their gifts and brought a fun festive feeling to Friday. We were overwhelmed by all the feedback from the team to say thank you. It has been difficult not to host our usual Christmas Pamper party and other coffee afternoon events, so we make the best of the situation this year.

Sharing our recent compliments

One of the greatest moments we have is when a client or their family member shares what Home Instead Senior Care and its CAREGivers have meant to them. Here is a recent compliment we have received from a family member: All anxieties and concerns were immediately removed when we started care with Home Instead. The high standard of training and attitude of staff has been evidenced in the care provision. They can offer her reassurance, monitor her moods or physical health, and generally know her as a person. As a family we have never felt so supported or at ease since starting care for Mum. I have never visited Mum and felt the need to tidy, clean up after CAREGivers, or put things right. Always engaging her in conversation that makes
