Dr Farrukh Khan - Owner

My name is Farrukh and I own the Basildon office of Home Instead Senior Care.

I have spent the last 25 years working as a Doctor within the NHS and Private Health industry, specialising in weight loss surgery. I specialised in Gastric Band Surgery, Colonoscopy, Colorectal Surgery, and Endoscopy.

I was motivated to make the move into the care industry, due to the fact that over the years I found myself unable to help my patients once they left  my care in hospital. Home Instead has provided me with the perfect opportunity to provide the after service that I was previously unable to give.

I’m married with 3 daughters and outside of work, my hobbies include, long distance cycling and motor sports. 


Loraine Mayes - Care Manager 

My name is Loraine I am the Care Manager for Home Instead Senior Care Basildon.  

I have worked within the care industry for the past 10 years within domiciliary care and learning difficulties.

I went into care after nursing my father at home with Cancer it was then that I realised the importance of providing care and support  to enable people to stay in their own homes.

I have just completed my level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care.  

I am a wife and a mother of 4 and enjoy spending my spare time with my family and friends.      


Jo Morrison - Deputy Care Manager

My name is Jo Morrison and my career began as a customer services manager in the banking industry. After having a family and through my role as a mother, I decided I wanted a change of career to a job that held personal meaning in my life. I wanted to move into the care sector following my family experience of seeing an uncle, grandmother and friend all suffering with Alzheimer's disease, and a close family friend and neighbour living with Parkinson's disease for many years. I joined Home Instead Senior Care as I passionately believe in the ethos of the company and was keen to promote the high standard of person-centred care we are able to provide for our clients. I started out as Networker, and have done most roles in the business over the years but my role is now Deputy Care Manager, helping to oversee Compliance and Standards in the Office, along with being the Dementia and End of Life trainer for our CAREGivers.  I have my Level 3 and Level 5 Management Diploma in health and social care. 

When not working I enjoy spending time with my husband, two children and generally socialising with friends. I like to go swimming, bake cakes, go the gym and read whenever I have time. 


Rachael Bone - Administrative Assistant

Hello my name is Rachael. Senior care was a completely new experience to me after having worked as a Secretary in London for over 15 years and then becoming a stay at home mum to my son.  I started working for Home Instead in the Thurrock office and transferred to the Basildon office in April 2016. After completing my initial training in Thurrock I started as a CAREGiver, and then started admin duties at the start of 2014. I started taking on more daily office duties and now within my role in the Basildon office I look after the coordinating of QA's and Service Reviews for our clients, as well as other admin duties.  I enjoy my role which I find rewarding and enjoyable as I still like to provide care to a regular client also. The satisfaction you get knowing you have helped someone and made a difference no matter how big or small is simply amazing. 



Amee Mayes - Administrative Assistant.

My name is Amee and I am one of the administrators in the office. I have been with Home Instead since 2016 and have enjoyed progressing and learning how a busy office environment works and new skills as I started as office junior. I admire the ethos of Home Instead and am impressed at the quality of care we provide to our clients. I have been out and helped with our Be  A Santa To A Senior campaign and am happy spending time learning a bit about all of the office roles, and helping wherever I can with all the different tasks. I have been learning and helping to cover the scheduling role and have enjoyed this. 


Marie Anderson - Finance Officer

My name is Marie Anderson and I am the finance officer for Home Instead Basildon. I am in charge of invoicing and payroll and work 3 days a week.

I worked in retail for 25 years for Index and Morrison’s before joining the team. I used to look after my Nan and take her shopping every week and to her appointments and now I do the same for my Mum. I love being part of the Home instead team as we have some lovely CAREGivers who really care about our clients.

I am married with 2 children enjoy photography, netball, boot camp, forest walks and spending time with my family and friends.
