Winter Wellness - St. Johns

Last week Home Instead Senior Care helped with the Winter Wellness event, held in partnership with Age UK Barnet. Dale Bevington acted as host to the event and gave a presentation on ways to avoid Falls, a matter we should all be aware of as the icy conditions approach. Thanks to all our local seniors who joined us, great to hear so much positive feedback.

There were plenty of useful talks about how to keep happy and healthy as the cold season approaches. Later, Life Planning Manager, Jenny Charles, discussed some of the resources available for the elderly that could help keep their homes warm this winter. There were lots of questions about financial support, just not enough time to cover them all; do get in touch with the Age UK Later Life Planning Service if you'd like more information.

We also heard from Karen Williamson of the Eat Well Project who was able to guide us through some easy ways to keep nourished. Some amazing work for the community going on, including the Men's Cookery Club.

Huge thanks to both Merilyn Bartley who managed to get the heart pumping with her Zoomba demonstration; and to Cathy Underwood for bringing us some inner calm via her Yoga presentation.

Overall, some wonderful community integration, thank you to: Barnet MPS, LFB and Council for taking the time to set up information stalls with us.
