Health care Information Day - 2024
We went into this year’s event with a re-design of the table layout from our previous 2 years at the Library, as we wanted all exhibitors to get maximum visibility. On 14th June 2024 we put this plan into action and held our busiest event yet. The event, as always, was free to attend for exhibitors and members of the public. Our team from Home Instead were waiting to welcome everyone on the day and assist them with finding information and support to help make their lives easier.
For our 6th in-person event we welcomed 24 companies who all provide services in North Somerset to help people requiring support to stay safely, happily and independently living in their own homes for as long as they want to.
Home Instead was joined by: Accure Healthcare Consultancy, Age UK, Alliance Homes, Alzheimer’s Society, Avon Fire & Rescue, Carelink, Medfeet Podiatry, Hutton Moor Leisure, Macmillan Cancer Support, North Somerset LGBT Forum, Avon & Somerset Police, The Red Cross, Reengage, Wards Solicitors, Alive Activities, AMS Electrical, CURO, Community Meals on Wheels, Parkinson’s UK, Greenslades Opticians, AYC Wellness Service, Response 24, plus others.
Mayor of Weston, Councillor John Crockford-Hawley came along to this year’s event and said: “I spent a very happy hour this morning at the Health Care Open Day in the Town Hall meeting a large number of people, professionals and volunteers, who provide a wide variety of services helping to make life easier for those in need. I came away with greater knowledge than I had on entering. Thank you to Home Instead for organising this excellent event.”
We left this year’s event considering the future, as we all had the feeling the event had outgrown the space available to us at the Library. We have some exciting ideas for our 2025 event, including a brand-new venue, and a pamphlet to give away to guests detailing the companies that attended and a summary of their services & contact information. We look forward to seeing you in 2025!
