Health care Information Day - 2023
Wednesday 14th June 2023 saw us hosting our 5th in-person event, again at Weston Library. As always, the aim of the event is to help people discover products and services available in their local area to help make their lives easier and keep them independently living at home.
This year was our biggest yet for range of companies exhibiting their services. We hosted: Avon Fire & Rescue, Age UK, AMS Electrical, Avon & Somerset Police, VANS Befriending Alliance, Birch Dementia Centre, Carelink, Community Meals on Wheels, CURO, North Somerset LGBT Forum, Healthy Living Advisors, Hutton Moor Leisure Centre, North Somerset Libraries, Macmillan Cancer Support, North Somerset Equipment & Demonstration Centre, Parkinson’s UK, the Red Cross, Reengage, Tamar Day Centre, Toucan Law, AYC Wellness Service, Windmill House Memory Clinic and Weston Hospicecare as well as Home Instead.
The Mayor of Weston, Councillor Ciaran Cronnelly attended the event and spoke to everyone exhibiting their services, and guests to the event as well. He was very impressed with the range of services on offer and thought the event was a vital asset to the community: “It was great to be able to pop along to yesterday’s health care information day and hear about all the work of different organisations across the area, all helping people with either care or health needs. Shout out to Home Instead Weston Super Mare for organising. Lots of passionate people doing great stuff!”
It was great to see footfall to the event increasing from last year, as we try to rebuild our presence after COVID-19. We hope the members of the public that attended all found something useful that could help them live well at home for longer.
