Health care Information Day - 2022

Finally back to normal after COVID-19, we booked Weston Library as the new venue for our Health Care Information Day event on Wednesday 5th October 2022. Hoping to once again shine a light on support available for families and their older loved ones. It was tough to build awareness of the event after 2 years off, we basically had to start from scratch again. Our friends from other exhibiting companies helped spread the word and advertise our one-stop shop for information and support.
We welcomed the new Mayor of Weston-super-Mare, Councillor Sonia Russe to our 2022 event and she was highly impressed with the organisations and information on offer.

The Mayor of Weston-super-Mare, Cllr Sonia Russe, said: “Yesterday I attended an amazing event providing information to those who seek to remain at home but require help and assistance from time to time. I took a very personal interest and gained a lot of information about the quality care ready and waiting on call in our town. It was organised by Home Instead, a family run home care service providing quality care to clients in their own homes. A couple of hours well spent with knowledgeable caring people. I returned home with a multitude of leaflets useful to give to those I meet and share on my travels.”
This year, we welcomed the following companies: Avon Fire & Rescue, Age UK, Alive Activities, Alzheimer’s Society, AMS Electrical, CURO, Elms Funerals, North Somerset LGBT Forum, North Somerset Libraries, Medfeet Podiatry, Avon & Somerset Police, Red Cross, Richard Ballinger Magic, the Stroke Association, Tamar Day Centre, Toucan Law, AYC Wellness Service and of course, us at Home Instead.
It was lovely to see all the interactions between people attending, and even the organisations themselves catching up with each other to better understand how we can all help one another. It is so important for us all to work together to provide a joined-up solution and to be able to signpost individuals to other organisations.
