About Us

About Home Instead St. Albans

Hello, we are Nick and Fiona Harrall – owners of Home Instead St. Albans.

We set up Home Instead St. Albans in 2010 with the sole aim of enabling our clients to remain independent and to continue to live with dignity in their own homes. The main towns serviced are St. Albans, Harpenden and Radlett although the territory also includes all the other surrounding smaller towns and villages.

We live in St. Albans and have 2 daughters. Both have now finished their education and are working in marketing and buying in the beauty industry.

We also have two German Shorthaired Pointers, Lotte and Freddie. Lotte is 9, and a very calm dog who is a regular visitor to our clients, Freddie is 3, and is still learning the ropes from Lotte to enable him to go and visit people but he will be out and about very soon.

We have both worked for large corporate organisations. Fiona as a Chartered Surveyor and Nick running technology projects all over the world. We both decided we wanted a change and to do something a bit more worthwhile! Since starting Home Instead in St. Albans we have found it to be a truly rewarding move and cannot think of anything else we’d rather do! We are committed to ensuring we build a fantastic team to provide the highest quality of care for our clients and their families, giving peace of mind for all concerned. We can guide you through the difficult decisions that need to be made when looking for care and help you decide if care at home is the route you should take.

Our  offices are located in St. Albans and we are part of a global network of more than 975 locally owned and operated offices.

We look forward to speaking to you to tell you how our very special and unique services can help you or your loved ones remain in their own home.

CAREGivers You Can Trust

In recent times we have all seen numerous acts of kindness from our CAREGivers and the efforts they  have gone to, to  help and protect our clients and their famlies.

This makes us incredibly proud of our wonderful team who always go "the extra mile" to support and protect the our clients.

It takes an extra special person to become a CAREGiver, someone who is kind, compassionate and trustworthy and who are always looking  to make a positive impact on our client's lives.

The team here in the St Albans office are incredible; every day, our CAREGivers & staff go above and beyond to show how dedicated they are to their roles of helping those who need it most.

What makes Home Instead stand out from others is that they invest in their people.

All new CAREGivers are given full training to ensure they are confident to look after our clients.
Home Instead have also  developed and created a specialist dementia course, accredited by City & Guilds.

All of our CAREGivers are encouraged to complete this training so that we are able to support clients and their families living with dementia..

We take extra precautions to look after and protect our clients and have a thorough background check and vetting process to be completed before a CAREGiver begins their career with Home Instead.

Once you're signed up, we go through an in-depth process to ensure that your requirements and personality get correctly matched with the perfect CAREGiver.

We want everyone from client to CAREGiver to feel comfortable and happy at all times, and this allows us to provide the most personal and best home care possible.
