North Sheffield CAREGiver of the Year Nomination

The CAREGiver of the Year Award recognises individual CAREGivers for their outstanding service to Home Instead.  The finalists will be chosen by a panel of judges based at our National Office and the winner will be announced at the National Conference in November. We are delighted to share with you that we are putting our CAREGiver June forward as Home Instead North Sheffield's nominee for the award.

In her 70's she decided she needed a change in career and looked for a job in care - a role she describes as 'the most rewarding I've ever had'.

June saw an advert posted by Home Instead for CAREGiving vacancies and had nothing to lose knowing she'd be a good CAREGiver. Home Instead did not see June's age as a barrier and saw all the wonderful qualities she has which would benefit our clients.

June, 82 , is a great-grandmother once deemed to old to work and is thought to be the oldest care worker/CAREGiver in the UK. June is part of a new generation of older workers embarking on a career change when they would usually be thinking about putting their feet up. June who works 4 days a week, sees her age as an               advantage and even looks after some clients younger than her. June is an amazing ambassador for HiSC and has featured in The Guardian, Calendar news and BBC Sheffield amongst many others. Well done June, you are the perfect ‘pin up girl’ for Home Instead.

Everyone at Home Instead North Sheffield would like to wish June the very best of luck in becoming this year's winner of the CAREGiver of the Year Award!
