Home Instead Welcome Carers of All Ages

A recent report launched by Prince Charles revealed that a million people aged 50 and over are out of work. Home Instead want to change this statistic and speak with some of Prince Charles’s missing millions about working in the care sector and how rewarding a care job with Home Instead can be.

The research by the Prince’s Initiative for Mature Enterprise (PRIME) says that as many as 1.5 million people over 50 have left work involuntarily for a variety of reasons over the last 8 years. PRIME also found that 1.1 million of these people still want to work.

Due to the country’s ageing population, the care sector is crying out for workers and Home Instead are on a mission to provide more jobs in Sheffield, regardless of age.

Bryn Evans (Franchise owner at Home Instead Sheffield) had this to say about the report, “The over 50s are a largely untapped and seem to be perfect for the care sector so to read about the amount out of work was unbelievable

We match our CAREGivers to clients and some of our clients like to have CAREGivers similar age to them because typically they have the life skills to understand our clients care needs and have more in common. This is why we already employ many people over 50; our oldest CAREGiver is in their 70’s!

Our roles are part-time so are perfect for anyone who may be semi-retired or looking to top up their money by doing a couple of hours a week.

Step out from the missing millions, call Home Instead Sheffield and start the next chapter in your career!
