Home Instead Launch What’s On Where Guide!

After months of hard work and phone calls, Home Instead Sheffield is ready to launch the first edition of their What’s on Where Guide! (WOW)

The WOW project started as Home Instead were looking to do something to combat social isolation across adults within local communities in Sheffield, and saw that providing a list of the activities that are on offer across Sheffield will hopefully encourage social interaction and reduce loneliness across adults in Sheffield.

No matter your age, physical ability or mental health, getting involved in some form of social activity for at least 2 hours a day is key to your general well-being. It has been proven that interacting with likeminded individuals can improve your health, reduce the risk of hospitalisation, prevent falls and even slow the onset of dementia in older people.

After digging into local communities to find out what is happening, the range of activities is outstanding. These range from coffee mornings to lunch clubs, singing groups, bridge club, art classes and craft groups. While most groups are suitable for both men and women, there are also groups which are specifically for women, like the Women’s Institute.

We have pulled all of our information together and we are now ready to launch our first edition!

Anyone within the community is welcome to come to our launch event and learn more about Home Instead and our WOW Guide
