Making the most of this Summer in Salisbury and Romsey
Whether it’s planning a fun activity to do with an older friend or relative, or taking some time out from caring for a loved one to unwind and recharge, here are some suggestions for how to make the most of this summer.
Salisbury City Council Communities Team is running a series of free fun days this summer in and around the estates and communities of Salisbury. They are taking place in Harnham, Bemerton, Bishopdown, and the Friary and there will be a wide range of activities on offer. Find out more here.
If fun days aren’t your thing and you’d rather something quieter and more contemplative, Salisbury Cathedral has an art exhibition, Living Water, which runs from 7 June to 28 September. Entry is included within a standard admission ticket. According to the website, “Living Water brings together artists who explore water as a symbol and an influence that shapes our world”.
Finally, for Jane Austen enthusiasts, Austen’s most-loved tale, Pride and Prejudice, is being brought to life in the beautiful garden at Arundells on 25 July by theatre company Illyria.
Over in Romsey, there is a varied programme of activities at Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, including yoga, forest bathing, and art workshops. If you enjoy classical music, on the other hand, you may like to check out the upcoming concerts at Romsey Abbey.
This is only a small selection of the many events taking place over the next couple of months, but we hope that it inspires you to get out and about and have a fantastic summer!
