Finding care for a loved one

Stepping into the world of care can be daunting but don't worry, you aren't alone. We are here to guide, inform and help your family on their journey.

January may feel like a slow month for some after all the excitement of the festive season has faded, but here in the office that’s far from the case, as client enquiries are coming in thick and fast. We’d been expecting the spike in demand, as the holiday season is often a time when families become increasingly aware that Mum or Dad may need more support. Taking the first steps with care can feel daunting, but we’re here to make the experience as easy as possible. Often it takes a fall or a hospital admission for a family or their loved one to accept that help may be needed, but as Liz, our registered manager, advises, it’s best to start small and build a good relationship with regular Care Professionals before that crisis point is reached.

An inrush of client enquiries is also an exciting time for our Care Professionals, as they get to meet and build relationships with new clients. Here in the office, we’ve been getting some lovely feedback about some of our new packages of care. We enjoyed hearing how one of our Care Pros went for a trip to the local pub with her new client, who is often lonely. Another Care Professional has been helping her new client put his home to rights after his absence for respite, while one of our live-in Care Professionals has been assisting a gentleman to settle back at home following a hospital stay, helping to give his family that much-needed peace of mind during those early days of transition back to home routine.

As we head further into winter over the coming weeks, we anticipate that more families will reach out to us to see how we could help their loved ones, whether that’s for an hour or two a week, several times a day, or even for live-in care. We’re keen to continue providing an excellent standard of care for as many of the older residents in our community as possible. So if you’d like to find out more about the possibility of care for yourself or a loved one—or if you’d like to join our growing team of wonderful Care Pros—please do get in touch. We’d love to chat!
