I’d like to take this opportunity to share our approach to home care and Live in care. Home Instead, and why I believe it’s the reason so many local families entrust us with the care of their relatives.
Deciding from the different care options available for a loved one can be a daunting and emotional process. It’s essential to understand what sets different care providers and options apart, ensuring your family member receives not just adequate, but exceptional care.
When it comes to the well-being of your loved ones, finding a home care service that stands out for its dedication and compassion is pivotal. At Home Instead Poole we have been supporting the local community across Poole from Oakdale and Lilliput, to the surrounding area including Ferndown and Trickett’s Cross, for close to 13 years, and understand the importance of providing a service that is as caring and attentive as family.
From the onset, Home Instead has been committed to improving the quality of life for older individuals who wish to maintain their independence and continue living at home. We begin our process by taking the time to meet with clients, whether they’re in hospital or at home, either alone or with their family, to discuss exactly what it is that they would like us to support them with. Every care package is tailored to meet a person’s needs. Recognition of each person as an individual with unique needs, preferences, and history is paramount in the personalised care we provide.
One feature that distinguishes us is our Care Professional matching and our relationship-led care. Our Care Professionals are not just trained to perform tasks; they’re dedicated to building genuine long- standing bonds with clients. I’ve seen first-hand how matching a Care Professional to a client based on shared interests or personality can make a world of difference. This can turn a daily visit into a social occasion that clients genuinely look forward to, where companionship is just as important as the help with everyday tasks.
We’re the people that will go the extra mile to ensure our clients live the life that they want in their own home. A lovely example is one of our clients in the Poole area who expressed an interest in dancing and within a couple of weeks we had arranged to take him to a local dance class. One of his regular Care Professionals with similar interests takes him there. He has a really enjoyable time dancing and meets other people in the local community, with a regular dance partner who he knows and trusts and gets along with.
Emphasis on consistency is another key aspect of our care. Familiarity brings comfort, especially to those managing conditions such as dementia. Therefore, we ensure that a regular small team participates in the client’s care. This not only enhances the building of strong relationships but also allows for the subtleties of a person’s requirements to be recognised and catered for by someone who understands their routines and preferences. All our visits are at least one hour and our services are adaptable, increasing or decreasing as our clients’ circumstances change. Whether it’s adjusting to a new diagnosis, recovery from an operation or illness, or needing just a little extra help around the house, we’re proactive and responsive.
“Making the decision to move from another home care provider to Home Instead was the best decision I could have made. I have been particularly impressed and grateful for the team's responsiveness to Dad's needs when the team have gone above and beyond on a number of occasions.”

Lastly, our commitment to the ongoing development of our Care Professionals through comprehensive training and support ensures they are equipped to handle the complexities that come with age and health challenges. From dementia care training to understanding nuances of different physical conditions, we are dedicated to empowering our local team in Poole to provide the highest quality of care.
With Home Instead, families can be assured that their relatives are not just looked after but truly cared for with respect, dignity, and kindness. Our vision is for everyone to age with the grace and support they deserve, and we strive each day to make this a reality for our clients.
