At Home Instead Senior Care we ensure that our CAREGivers have the training they need to support our Clients in every eventuality. Unfortunately, the day may arrive when a Client needs some emergency first aid to keep them alive until medical experts arrive to take over.
Ask anyone who's ever had to carry out emergency life support and they'll tell you it's not the greatest of experiences. However, if you can do the basics to keep people alive, what an achievement that is!
This week another 12 of our CAREGivers were trained (or refreshed) by Trevor from First Aid Training & Event Cover Ltd and they thoroughly enjoyed it as usual.
Debra, Home Instead's Training manager said "Emergency Life Support training is now a mandatory requirement of registered Home Care services but we've always done this training as you never know when it may come in handy. We've been using Trevor for a couple of years now because he's very knowledgeable and has a great ability to show others how it's done in the real world. The feedback we get after every session is that the CAREGivers feel more confident in their ability to help out if the worst were to happen".
All CAREGivers repeat this training every 18 months to ensure they keep up to date with any changes in technique and as a refresher.
