Before care begins, one of our Care Managers visits you at home to understand your needs, your routines and your preferences, and to answer any questions you or your family may have. We then match and introduce a Care Professional who suits you, both practically and personally. Your Care Professional will need their own bedroom, and practical arrangements such as meals are agreed with you at the outset. Although they live in your home, they do not work around the clock. Instead, they typically work an agreed eight to ten hour day with regular breaks, and they sleep at the house so support is available overnight if the unexpected happens. To provide continuity, most of our clients are supported by two Care Professionals who alternate every few weeks. Handovers are carefully planned, and if your usual Care Professional is ever unavailable, we arrange cover straight away.
As a fully managed service, we look after every part of our live-in care. We recruit, train and directly employ each of our Care Professionals, oversee the care they provide, and review the support regularly so it continues to meet your needs as they change. Our training is thorough and ongoing, and includes specialist training for supporting people living with dementia, Parkinson's and other conditions. We believe families should feel involved and informed at every stage. From the first enquiry onwards you will deal with a small local team who know you and your situation, and we keep relatives updated as often as they would like.
