Dementia Care in Penryn

Home Instead provides compassionate dementia care in Penryn, tailored to each individual’s unique journey with the condition. Our approach is built on understanding that everyone experiences dementia differently, which is why we’re proud to be the only home care company with City & Guilds Assured Dementia Training. We’ve been supporting local families for 15 years since Tim Roe established our service, including caring for Tim’s own mum in 2020, helping her remain at home. Our Care Professionals arrive in everyday clothes rather than uniforms, drive to appointments, and are carefully matched to clients, creating relationships that feel natural and comfortable, not clinical.

Choosing Home Instead Penryn for personalised home care

Beyond home care, we help our clients in Penryn stay connected to their community, maintaining social bonds that are vital for wellbeing. Our Care Professionals might accompany clients to the weekly farmers’ market in Penryn, where the bustle and fresh local produce can stimulate the senses and spark conversation. We support gentle strolls along Penryn River or visits to Enys Gardens when seasonal bluebells are in bloom, as nature experiences can be particularly beneficial for those living with dementia. For those who enjoy socialising, we can facilitate attendance at local Memory Cafés, creating opportunities for meaningful interaction in supportive environments.

Our Penryn Team is With You Through Every Step

Our Care Manager, Richard, brings over 45 years of care sector experience and holds a Level 5 qualification as a Registered Manager, ensuring expert oversight of our dementia care services throughout Penryn. Every Care Professional receives comprehensive dementia training that goes well beyond industry standards. They learn about different types of dementia, effective communication techniques, and how to respond compassionately to behavioural changes. Our family-led approach means we deliver care that passes what we call our "Mum & Dad test," care we'd be happy for our own parents to receive. This family-led approach carries through into the local connections we've built across Penryn. We collaborate closely with GP surgeries, community nurses and specialist dementia support workers, creating a coordinated approach to care. Our team regularly accompanies clients to "Singing for the Brain" sessions, which combine the joy of music with cognitive stimulation in a supportive group setting. We've built strong relationships with local Memory Cafés, providing valuable social opportunities and peer support for our clients and their families. When the Hall for Cornwall or Princess Pavilion hosts dementia-friendly performances, our Care Professionals are there to help clients enjoy these special cultural experiences.
