To us it's personal

Every client we support is different, and we tailor the care to what each person needs. That might include a hand with washing and dressing at the start of the day, meals planned and cooked to your taste, and light housekeeping such as the laundry and changing the bed linen. We look after medication too, giving it at the right times and reordering repeat prescriptions before they run low. Many of our Care Professionals drive, which is particularly helpful for clients living in the more rural parts of our community. A morning at the Thursday market by the Assembly Rooms or a walk around the Pool to feed the ducks can remain part of the week, along with lifts to appointments, the shops or wherever else you need to go. We also support many local people living with dementia and our Care Professionals have specialist dementia training, and having the same familiar person there each day helps many people feel more settled.

Choosing Home Instead Melbourne for personalised home care

Our local team in Melbourne will take the time to understand your routines, preferences and the support you need at home. From there, we match you with a Care Professional whose skills and experience are right for you, while also considering personality and shared interests. They live with you in the home and can help with personal care, medication, mobility, meals, household tasks and companionship. They have their own private bedroom and stay overnight, so someone familiar is close by if unexpected help is needed. We remain closely involved throughout, managing handovers, cover and any changes to the care. This helps provide continuity from Care Professionals who get to know you well and understand how you like things done.

Our Melbourne Team is With You Through Every Step

Keeping families informed sits at the centre of the way we provide live-in care. We can come out to meet you at home and talk through your preferences and how you like things done, and from then on we keep relatives as up to date as they would like, so the reassurance of consistent, close-by care reaches the whole family, wherever they live. Because we live and work locally, we know the local GPs and village pharmacies, along with the district nurses, and we can call on trusted local tradespeople if something in the house needs attention. Every Care Professional is employed and trained by us and DBS checked before they begin. We are also regulated and inspected by the Care Quality Commission, so our standards of safety and quality are independently checked, and we are always glad to talk through how we can help.
