To us it's personal

Living with dementia can make familiar surroundings incredibly important for maintaining independence and reducing anxiety. Our care approach recognises that your loved one’s home is filled with meaningful memories and comforting routines that can significantly benefit their wellbeing. We take time to understand how dementia affects each person differently, adapting our support as needs change, perhaps helping with medication reminders in early stages or providing more comprehensive personal care as the condition progresses. By supporting your family member in their own home, we help maintain their dignity and sense of self, allowing them to continue enjoying the Hammerwich community they know and love.

Our Hammerwich Team is With You Through Every Step

We are led by Peta Mandleberg, a Registered Nurse since 1983 with extensive experience across healthcare settings, including hospitals and care homes. Our Care Manager, Alison, brings over 30 years of experience managing social care settings across the West Midlands, ensuring our service meets the highest standards. We’ve created a unique training environment in our Cannock office, complete with a setup that mimics an older person’s home (affectionately named ‘Betty’) where our Care Professionals practice real-world dementia care techniques. Unlike other providers, we don’t wear uniforms when visiting clients, creating a more dignified, friend-like relationship that doesn’t identify vulnerable people to others in the community. Our commitment to dementia support extends beyond individual care into community partnerships that benefit everyone in Hammerwich and the surrounding areas. We host a popular weekly Memory Café in partnership with Staffordshire Libraries at Cannock Library, creating a warm and welcoming space for those living with dementia and their carers to socialise and share experiences. Plans are underway to expand this successful initiative with a second café in Burntwood, making support more accessible to local families. We proudly sponsor the annual Dementia Walk in Burntwood, which raises vital funds for local dementia charities while raising awareness about living well with dementia.
