Trusted, Personalised Home Care in Edinburgh

What is important to many of the people we support is being able to maintain their connections in Edinburgh. Many of our Care Professionals drive, so they can provide transport to appointments, visits with friends and family, or regular groups and activities in the community. That might mean joining one of Edinburgh Leisure’s Ageing Well walks, taking a stroll through The Meadows or spending time at the LifeCare Centre in Stockbridge, which runs activities and a community cafe for older adults. A Care Professional is also there to provide practical support and companionship at home, helping with personal care, medication, meals and household tasks where needed. Because the care is provided consistently, they get to know the person’s usual routines and can often notice changes in things such as mobility, mood or appetite.

Our Care Starts With Connection

The support we provide depends entirely on what you need. Some of our clients mainly want companionship, cooking and a hand around the house, while others need fuller care, including help with washing and dressing, medication through the day, and support to move safely around the home. Whatever the level, it is arranged around you from the start. Your Care Professional will live in a spare room in your home and will usually work an eight to ten hour day, agreed at the initial assessment, with proper breaks. They sleep at the house, so someone is close by overnight if anything unexpected happens, and if continuous care is needed through the night we will discuss how best to support you. To provide continuity, most of our clients are supported by two Care Professionals who take it in turns to live in for a few weeks at a time. Our local team plans the handovers carefully and arranges cover if either is ever unavailable.

Our Edinburgh Team is With You Through Every Step

Our live-in care is fully managed by a local team in Edinburgh who live and work in the area themselves. Because we are close by, we know the local GPs, community groups and district nurses locally, and we can connect you and your family with the right services when they are needed. We can also call on trusted tradespeople if something in the house needs attention. We believe families should feel involved and informed throughout. From the first enquiry you will deal with a small local team who know you and your situation, and we keep relatives updated as often as they wish, whether they live nearby or further away. We are regulated and inspected by the Care Inspectorate, so the standard of our care is checked independently and families can feel confident in the support we provide. If you have particular needs, whether that is short-term support, longer-term care or help returning home from hospital, speak with us and we will agree how best to help.
