Having the same person alongside you each day is one of the many advantages of live-in care. Our Care Professional gets to know your preferences and because they share the day with you, they can more easily notice if something seems amiss, perhaps a change in appetite or in how easily you are moving about, and can mention it to your family or GP. Your Care Professional will have a bedroom of their own and will usually work an eight to ten hour day, agreed with you at the assessment. They sleep at the house, so someone is close by overnight, and if regular night-time care is needed we will discuss the best way to arrange it. Most of our clients are supported by two Care Professionals who each live in for a few weeks at a time. Our local team plans the handovers and arranges cover if either is unavailable, and everything begins with a home visit.
Our live-in care is seamlessly managed by our local team, and keeping families informed is at the heart of how we provide care. We can come out to meet you and talk through how you like things done at home, and from then on we keep relatives up to date as often as they would like, so a son or daughter living further away has the reassurance of knowing how their parent is getting on. Because we live and work locally, we know the GP surgeries and pharmacies nearby, along with the district nurses, and we can call on trusted local tradespeople if something in the house needs attention. Every Care Professional is employed and trained by us and DBS checked before they begin. We are also regulated and inspected by the Care Quality Commission, so our standards of safety and quality are independently checked, and we are always glad to talk through how we can help.
