As people age, staying connected to the outside world can sometimes be a challenge due to physical constraints or frustrations using technology. That is why Home Instead Senior Care has introduced new simple to use technology called GrandPad.®

What is GrandPad?

GrandPad is a tablet device which has been designed especially with older people in mind. It is an easy, safe and secure way for you to keep in touch and connected with your loved ones.

The large buttons and sensitive touch screen make it easy for older people to use, even if they are reluctant to use technology or have never used technology in the past.

Combined with the support of visits from a Home Instead CAREGiver, GrandPad® offers:

  • A way to connect and interact with family through emails, calls and sharing and viewing photos.
  • A direct connection to your local Home Instead Senior Care office
  • Stimulation through games and music

Benefits of GrandPad

There are several benefits to using GrandPad for your loved one and yourself:

  • Locked, secure system – only ‘contacts’ added by the main family admin can make contact through the GrandPad to your loved one. This will help eliminate scam emails and phone calls.
  • Extra eyes in the home – both yourself and the local Home Instead office who provide care to your loved one, can make video calls to the GrandPad. This gives you the ability to see into the home, and help to monitor and pick up on any changes with your loved ones sooner.
  • Unlimited data – all GrandPads are delivered with a SIM card installed. This means your loved one can listen to music, play games, make calls and video calls at no additional cost to them. 
  • Helps reduce social isolation - if your loved one spends a lot of time in their home, or maybe on their own, using the GrandPad gives them an easy way to stay connected and in touch with friends and family. With the touch of a button, there is always someone available for them to speak to, whether that be yourself, the Home Instead Office or GrandPad Member Experience
  • 24 hour support – each GrandPad has a button which connects directly to the Home Instead Office, and a button which connects directly to GrandPad Member Experience.
